Our Company

Northern and Remote Wilderness Adventures Ltd. (NARWAL) is a small, friendly, northern owned and operated family business. Our reputation as a competent, safety conscious outdoor adventure school is well established. NARWAL's founder, Cathy Allooloo, has been teaching paddling since 1977, and her experiences include a stint on Canada's Whitewater Kayak Racing Team. Other family members include Titus, Kayley, and Tiffany, aboriginal northerners with extensive outdoor experience.  Since its incorporation in 1987, NARWAL has provided quality instruction to over three thousand participants. Our instructors are carefully selected based on accreditation, personality and experience.

NARWAL operates out of the North Slave region of Canada's Northwest Territories. We are located in the City of Yellowknife, the territorial capital. Our tours expand from Yellowknife out into the surrounding lakes and rivers which are connected to Great Slave Lake.
