Building and maintaining satellite networks in the world’s most difficult conditions has given SSi Micro the capability to install similar networks anywhere in the world. We have successfully deployed many of the same technologies in Africa, Indonesia, and the South Pacific.
SSi specializes in designing and adapting software for remote markets. We do this for our own business needs but also because there are many other markets out there with the same challenges. Designing our own software ensures we get exactly what we want.
SSi has a long history of working with wireless products. In March of 2004, SSi began offering high-speed wireless Internet to customers in Yellowknife. This technology was the first of its kind in Canada. It’s also proven to be a huge success. Today, we provide reliable, high-quality Internet in over 50 communities in Nunavut and the NWT using the same technology.
For all of the advanced technology in our Nunavut-wide QINIQ network, the most interesting part might be the human network that makes it run. Our one-of-a-kind model involves contracting and training something we call Community Services Providers.
