Remote Network Management
We manage many of the networks that we build. We operate two geographically redundant satellite network operations centers that control and manage these networks on a 24x7x365 basis. Network Management services that we provide include:
- Throughput & load of routers & switches
- Environmental systems (temperature, site access), Power (UPS)
- Server performance (RAM, CPU utilization, HDD space)
- Transmit/Receive statistics (c/n ratio, errors, link errors)
- Protocol Distribution, bandwidth utilization
- Errors, exceptions & alerts
- Dynamic Bandwidth allocation statistics
- Email sent/received, cache hits, DHCP renewal statistics
- Base station modulation
- TCP acceleration statistics
- Compression efficiency on DVB & TDMA
- Packets per second
- Satellite Carrier Receive & Transmit signal strength
Network monitoring and maintenance is the most critical aspect of our service. We devote significant time and resources to making sure our networks work, and work well. We monitor numerous aspects of our networks 24 hours a day. We make sure our equipment is running smoothly, not working too hard, running too hot, etc.
We receive regular updates on any significant changes to our equipment in each community and aim to fix problems before they start. In fact, greater than 95 per cent of problems are fixed before most users even notice there’s a problem. Even so, we notify our customers of any and all outages, no matter how short or when they occur. It all comes back to our policy of open communication.
