It seemed that between winter, 1995 and spring, 1997, the Northwest Territories was a hotspot for unidentified flying objects. Dozens of people in several Northern communities claimed to see a mysterious flashing light in the sky that changed colours. Though it has been suggested that these unexplained lights in the sky could have merely been a star or a planet, observatories reported that there were no stars or planets in position where the lights were being seen. Adding to the mystery, some reports claimed that the flashing light seems to land on a frozen lake some 15 to 30 miles away from spectators. Several people have claimed to have been followed by these lights and their vehicles have shut down while the light hovered over it, refusing to start until the light left the scene! (more of this can be found within the interview I conducted with P.J. Harston)  What's even more amazing is that sightings of UFOs have been taking place in the Northwest Territories since the end of World War II! Are these UFOs mere stars or planets? How about secret military testing?

Concerning the very-close encounters, P.J. Harston (the reporter who covered the UFO sightings up north) informed me that on Feb. 24 & 25th, 1996, residents of Trout Lake reported actually seeing a UFO up close! Between 10:30 and 11:00 pm, many residents saw what they described as a "flying saucer" - a bowl-shaped object with different lights on the side! It was seen from approximately 1500 yards away, and one resident managed to take some pictures with his 35mm camera. (Trout Lake is located near the NWT/BC border, which is interesting, as there have been many UFO sightings in BC over the past few years...)

Just what is behind this aerial phenomenon in the northern sky? This web site presents the information - you decide what you believe...
