Harrison EVANS - from Civil War Pension Papers - b. Jessamine Co. KY; lied about his age when enlisting - said he was 45 - 1862-45=1817

Discharge papers - October 1863 - says he is age 54 and being discharged because of chronic rheumatism and general debility. 1863- 54=1807 so we can assume he was born ca 1807.

Pension application of Charity EVANS, widow of Harrison EVANS: Includes the marriage record - Harrison EVANS and Charity Grimes m 30 August 1853 in Scioto Co. OH. That both she and her husband had been previously married. That Harrison EVANS died 11 August 1876. They had the following children: Henry H. EVANS, b 27 June 1855; Andrew J. EVANS, b 31 July 1857; Sarah C. EVANS b 9 January 1860; Christopher E. EVANS, b 2 February 1862; Margaret F. EVANS, b 7 Sept 1864.

Lawrence Co. Ky Records: Harrison EVANS and Sarah Daniels joined in wedlock 23 Oct 1828 by John Stafford. Marriage permissions - Sarah Daniels is Miss; states their parents certifying their consent. Since they were married in Lawrence Co. KY - it is assumed that, that was the county of residence of Sarah Daniels and her parents.

Since Johnson Co. KY was formed in 1847 from Lawrence Co. KY deeds before 1847 would be in Lawrence Co. KY, if they lived in the area taken later for Johnson Co. KY.

Deposition - 1890: Ison EVANS, age 59, post office - Friendship, Scioto Co. OH; says he is the son of Harrison EVANS and his 1st wife. His father Harrison EVANS died at his house.

1890 - Deposition in Civil War Paper of Harrison EVANS: William EVANS, age 59, of Adams Co. OH - post office - Selig, states his parents Harrison EVANS and his 1st wife Sarah Daniels and that his mother died about 1850.

Deposition - 1890: James H. EVANS, age 41, post office Blue Creek, says that he is the son of Harrison EVANS and his first wife Sarah Daniels. His mother died ca 1850 and his father married Charity Haynes or Grimes. Charity had been married previously to Joseph Haynes. His father, Harrison EVANS died 11 August 1875. Charity EVANS died 24 June 1887. His wife was present when she died. Harrison EVANS spent most of his time with sons by his first wife after his discharge.
